Biography
Gerard J. Donnelly, Esq., P.C.
Gerard Donnelly is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army, he later went on to complete his law degree at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. His first experience was as an Assistant County Attorney where he prosecuted numerous cases while assigned to the Family Court Bureau. In addition to child support, custody, and visitation issues, Mr. Donnelly also handled Juvenile Delinquency and child-related cases. During this time, he tried a number of cases pertaining to these matters, as well as countless courtroom hearings.
Mr. Donnelly later served as an Assistant District Attorney. During his tenure with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, he prosecuted numerous criminal cases, with a number of trials to his credit. He forged many relationships during this time with police, government officials, and government agencies – entities that represent invaluable resources in the private sector.
Upon his departure from the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Donnelly was invited to join Sobel & Kelly, the prominent insurance defense firm.
After representing these agencies for the County of Suffolk as well as insurance carriers, Mr. Donnelly arrived at the decision that his extensive experience would be best served by representing private clients in need of knowledgeable, personalized assistance. He takes great pride in advocating for and protecting the rights of his clients as he guides them through the judicial process.
